NY Senators To Be Denied Pay

And good. Don’t pay those bastards while we the people lose. Their fragile egos are causing a legislative headlock which keeps their pride somehow intact while totally fucking us. On Wednesday, State Controller Thomas DiNapoli came through with his promise to withhold NY Senate pay if they couldn’t get their shit together:
Thirty-one days into their stalemate, do-nothing warring state senators are having their salaries withheld Wednesday – for the first time since the infamous June 8 Republican-led coup.
State Controller Thomas DiNapoli last week ordered the biweekly paychecks of all 62 senators held until the Senate wraps up its fight.
Wednesday is the first payday since the order. Payroll for 62 senators amounts to some $190,000 – or $3,049 per senator, every two weeks.
“The controller didn’t want to interject his office in what’s an internal dispute, but he just felt he couldn’t continue to process payroll as if everything was normal,” DiNapoli spokesman Dennis Tompkins said.
DiNapoli is moving ahead even though a court has yet to rule on his question about whether he has the authority.
The controller’s office also continues to withhold payments for expense vouchers submitted by the Senate. A spokesman said 557 vouchers have been withheld, totaling $1.5 million
Good. How can their pay be justified if they can’t even willingly sit through a session?

Palin Threatens Legal Action Against Bloggers, Possible Scandal Emerging

Apparently, certain members of the blogosphere have claimed they have proof that Palin is leaving office due to a federal investigation. Palin is not pleased:
The abruptness of her announcement and the mystery surrounding her plans has fed widespread speculation. But Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein on Saturday warned legal action may be taken against bloggers and publications that reprint what he calls fraudulent claims.
“To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as ‘fact’ that Governor Palin resigned because she is ‘under federal investigation’ for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation,” Van Flein said in a statement. “This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law.”
Oh Sarah, what the fuck are you up to? I also think everyone should check out Shannyn Moore’s blog. We all know it’s on the blogs and on twitter that stories break these days. Palin is a member of the GOP, and an evangelical. In other words, I don’t trust her anymore than the president of Iran.

Sarah Palin Resigns
Sarah Palin will resign as governor of Alaska. Check out this rambling speech.
This is really, really weird. Sarah says she can affect more change “out of government”. Cryptic much? Wtf does that mean? What exactly is all this about? A person does not just resign in the middle of their term for no reason. I want the REASON.
Perhaps, she is gearing up full time for a 2012 presidential bid. However, what the GOP needs now is not a far righter, but a moderate who can win independents. The days of Evangelical political power are over. They have made themselves look looney and have been in way too many sex scandals, mostly gay. Hmmmm.

No Vote on Same Sex Marriage for New York

This is such a load of bullshit! The New York Senate is an absolute disaster, and we won’t be getting equality yet. The Senators own pride is destroying the people’s dreams. The situation in Albany has gotten completely out of control:
Senate Democrats, who in a rare rebuke of Mr. Paterson, their party leader, spent only five minutes in the Senate chamber on Wednesday afternoon and then announced that they would be going home.
They later backed off their threat to leave and said they would return for another session that the governor has called for 3 p.m. Thursday. But the governor’s threat clearly left many of them embittered.
In an angry, lectern-pounding appearance outside his office in the Capitol on Wednesday evening, Mr. Paterson also threatened to file a suit to force senators to come back to work, and said he would look into whether he could direct the state treasury to withhold their pay indefinitely.
“You’re not going home,” he fumed. “You’re not getting paid. And you’re not going to disrespect the people of New York anymore.” Then he announced Thursday’s session.
So while Senators fight about who is the leader of the pack in a selfish attempt to spare their fragile egos, the hopes of individuals within New York state get squashed. This is a prime example of how the legislative process should NOT work.

Rachel Maddow on Senator Ensign Scandal
I love when this shit happens to Republicans (but not individuals or families). Amazingly, this affair is of the heterosexual nature! It’s a miracle!
Looks like John Ensign is a true hypocrite of the highest nature. Ensign campaigned for years on values, and look what he has done. He should be ashamed. Rachel Maddow analyzes the situation below.
